I wont post a link, since most of Billboards story about the changing face of the Sunset Strip is completely old news, but those who have raised questions about the future of the Whisky a Go Go on the Strip on the basis of a bogus headline should heed this quote from the ownership: Whisky owner Mikeal Maglieri [insists] that the live music scene is thriving on the Strip. He also slammed a published report that insinuated the 50-year-old Whisky is shuttering. The old staples that are here, the solid ones arent going anywhere, Maglieri said in a booth at the Rainbow Bar & Grill, another of his Sunset footholds. The Whisky is staying forever – its a family business. Its kept the strip alive and the Rainbow is an institution, we are breaking records and weve been here 43 years now.
