I work as a management consultant but writing and history are my passions, I have published three books and the 4th on Kodaikanal should come this year. I have been annoyed with how little there is on temples – not the religious stuff for pilgrims but factual information for those who like art, history and culture. I decided to do something about it and wrote a book - a historians guide to lesser known temples of Tamil Nadu - focusing on their history, inscriptions and art. In it are short and fascinating histories of Madras, Kanchi, Tanjore, Kumbakonam, Tirunelveli, Madurai - sourced from ancient poetry with beautiful metaphors, many never translated into English before. The book is targeted to a tourist - either a casual one who wants to do something different or a serious culture vulture.
