I work in a world of new knowledge and information, Big Data, Internet of Things, Real-time analysis over multidimensional steams, etc. Almost everyone I work with, from any industry, is interested in learning more, understanding new concepts, driving towards better results. Then work ends and Im in the real world of political activity and human action an the folks I encounter are largely the exact opposite. They are not interested in improving outcomes or understanding the reasons for their lack of success, they are not interested in new concepts but mostly in defending past understandings regardless how incomplete or downright wrong those past perceptions are. It is no wonder Im frustrated in dealing with run-of-the mill political situations.
