I work part time, my wage supports me and six children, in July tax credits stopped my weekly payments. Each time they wrote to me for information I promptly replied but always there was information needed . today I finally received a payment. I cannot explain how difficult the last few months have been, lying in bed unable to sleep, trying to work out ways of making a part time wage last the month. Sick to the pit of my stomach when I paid my rent because I also needed to buy food, knowing the likely hood of the gas and electricity lasting til pay day was practically nil. Benefit delay is avoidable and a disgrace. Im lucky I have several good friends and comrades that made sure me and the kids scraped by, but what about others, people who lose there homes, have to use food banks just to live etc. This situation is caused by the greed of capitalism, the government keep the working class poor so we cant fight back. Not once during the last few months have I blamed an immigrant, a benefit claimant or a traveller. I blame the government, I blame the bankers and I blame the greed of capitalism. Tonight I ll be warm, well fed and be able to sleep hopefully but what about others, its time to fight, if we dont try and change the system then things will get much much worse. We might fight and lose but if we dont fight we ve already lost.
