I work with a really fantastic team of people that make me look like the energizer bunny! What is really going on is that our group all fits together like a NASA mission, and we advance, plan, redirect and regroup faster than any team Ive ever seen. We center our organization using Basecamp software project management, and in this way we can share our digital assets in a group and divvy up tasks between the people with really different skill sets. While I love the compliments of how much content we are putting out, theres no way one human being working alone could do this. We have created entire new divisions and product launches at a faster pace Ive ever seen, and in an industry segment where numbers are shrinking, ours are dramatically up. What is remarkable about our group is that many of us have never met each other personally, as outside of my office in Kelowna, everybody lives and works in a different city. I think this is a lifetime reaction to my horrifyingly stressful time at Pictage, where we had an office building and cubicles. I just never, ever want to do something like that again. In Canada I have a creative team where we produce the content. This includes Kyle Jordan Perison and Justin MacGregor who produce media communications, and my assistant Sydney Crutchley who now assists in assembly of content. In the US, I have the implementation team consisting of my VP, Alison Faulkner; Robbie Gantt who runs customer experience and Jessica Seibel who is in control of all product operations. And in Wisconsin, I have Rob Crooks who runs our Wisconsin Rapids Fulfillment Center. In Tennessee, we have Heather Byrne Thompson who handles our social media communications. Ive learned from the book, How Google Works the most important thing in business is your talent and your culture. We have that ;)
