I worked all night and most of the day. We made it late to the river but still in time to sweat like a mistreated draft horse. As we were stowing away gear and clothing it became obvious that we had a small, four legged, furry rodent stowaway that likes old packs of Ramen noodles and Kleenex boxes. We cleaned up after him and swore a painful, poisoness death upon him and took off up river. The transmission slipped and the engine smoked. We gave up and headed back to the dock. I went overboard and found a barge rope wrapped around the prop. A couple of dives and all was clear and we are once again under weigh with our soon to be really dead stowaway.
