I worked as fast as I could to get the babies fed before dark but, I ran out of daylight and the moonlight was a bit dim. Poor Study came walking up to me with a cut on his bad foot. I quickly put the halter on him and brought him into the yard to soak his leg/foot so I could see how deep the cut was. I filled a bucket with Epsoms salt and grabbed my flashlight. I shined the light on his leg to find he had only wiped his mouth off on his leg while he was eating and there was no cut at all. I soaked his foot anyway and gave him extra feed and a few pears just because and was glad to know he wasnt hurt. Im pretty certain the extra attention didnt bother him :) I checked again, as every day, on Maggie. Still no sign of a milk bag but she looks better every day. Annabelles skin is healing but, if you saw it you wouldnt think so. She has a lot of raw spots but, this is where the fungus has fallen free from her poor little body. I now have to keep sunscreen on her so she doesnt burn. In all I am proud of our sweet girl. She IS gaining weight, her skin gets better daily and she tolerates everything I need to do in order to make her well. All of our little Whippoorwills are tucked in for the night ... asleep on the hay while Gus the protector watches
