I worked at the Dominicks gas station in Oswego, IL for seven years as a part-time station attendant (they just tore it down yesterday, by the way) and I stopped customers many, MANY times from using their cell phones while they were pumping their tanks with gas. This was for their safety and for mine. Most were grateful and didnt realize the danger. Few were rude and said This isnt the first time Ive pumped gas and ignored my warning. Please, PLEASE... watch this video and understand... It is not the gas and an open flame that will kill... It is the vapors ignited by the smallest spark or electrical discharge (yes, even static electricity). One wrong move could blow you, the station and every other person pumping their gas, to kingdom come! Please, everyone! Take the time, be cautious and be safe. Stay alive!!!
