I worked at wal-mart and I know for a fact those machines can be sensitive and the customer is given 3 opportunities to back out of the cash back option. Before it goes through it asks the customer if they approve the amount, it is not the store nor the employees responsibility to make sure the customer knows they are pulling money off of their own card. There is absolutely no way for the cashier to type in a cash back amount, even if they hand key the credit or debit card the customer is still prompted to finish on the other side or a slip is printed out for them to sign if the machine is broken altogether, at that point cash back is not an option and all cards must be ran as a credit card. I do not care for Wal-mart but I think people need to be aware of what they are doing and not blame others for their mistakes.
