I would appreciate an extra prayer or 2 over the next couple of days. Dec 6th is my middle son Daniels 13th Birthday, who I placed into an adoptive family when I was 21 years old. Dec 5th, 2001 was the longest, darkest night of my life. Knowing I was about to birth a precious gift that was to be shared, one I could not keep for myself was heart breaking. It is an open adoption because he is full-blood brother to Gabriel Dunaway & we do get to see him every few years. He knows who we are; there is a connection. The irony is that both of my sons who live with me resemble their fathers, while Daniel looks just like me. In addition, he & his family serve as missionaries in Nairobi, Kenya. As a small child I always wanted to be a missionary but would joke God please dont send me to Africa. LOLOL Who ever said God has no sense of humor obviously doesnt know Him ;) The decision to place for adoption was difficult, not without controversy. I did not give up my child. One gives up an unwanted animal at the shelter. I gave him MORE. Loved him enough to sacrifice my wants/needs for his. I have NEVER regretted my choice, no matter how much personal anguish it has caused. Each Christmas I send him a custom hand picked ornament for his tree. Its a tradition. I love each & every one of my sons with every fiber of my being. Also my angel baby girl in heaven.
