I would just like to say the decision in Ferguson was absolutely not a surprise. I hope that everyone will acknowledge that this man..mitted a crime. He was pursued by a trained law enforcement officer who followed protocol when trying to apprehend a suspect. I am not condoning the actions of this officer. I think we must also understand that he was acting within the scope of legality. If someone was trying to take away something it was Michael Brown who prohibited this police officer from acting within his authority. Many people will think that this is an injustice. However...the injustice that exists is the people who dont choose to be a part of this system. It should always remain incumbent upon ourselves to be vibrant individuals within our municipalities and communities. This grand jury brought back with conclusion because of the evidence that was presented. I would implore all minorities out there....black, Asian, Hispanic and especially our Native community here in Rapid City...become involved. Become a part of a grand jury, a jury in general. If we had more minorities involved in the process...we definitely could breathe...and say....we had a voice.
