I would just like to take a brief moment and say thank you to the very sweet lady and her two adorable children who made my day . So I worked a day shift and was supposed to be off at 4 P.M., at 3:50 an assault call comes in and off we go , 4:30, 5:00, 5:30 rolls around and we are still working on the investigation . At about 4:30 the concerned phone calls start coming in from home, from my sweet pregnant wife wondering if I am ok , I finally got the opportunity to answer the phone just before 6:00P.M. Did I mention she has been on bed rest and now Im almost two hours late to help her get the kids fed and down to bed after homework ? So we get done with the investigation and have one in custody at the PD. After making sure my guys are taken care of and they are good if I head home .... Yup you guessed it. ... Radio goes off with dispatch saying copy four car accident blocking state road 92. Well off we go again .. 6:00, 6:30, 7:00 P.M. rolls around , and yes the phone calls started coming again around 6:30,but I cant answer with my hands full helping the investigating officer . We get done at just a little after 7:00. I call and let her know Im ok and will stop to get dinner. I stop for pizza and one last stop for drinks, after all Im pretty sure my amazing wife is ready for one and surely deserves it .. I am standing in line at Harts in Highland exhausted and worried If everything at home is ok .. So Im not paying much attention, and I know Im probably not looking to enthusiastic , I walk up to pay for my drinks and the cashier says your good with the puzzled look on my face he says again the lady in front of you got your drinks . I looked over just in time to see her and her two beautiful children turn and say Thank You officer ! Then they walked out . Just a drink ?? Maybe... But today it was so much more ! Thank you whoever you were .. Your little Thank You truly meant the world to me today....... Sincerely: Sgt.Brooks
