I would like all of my friends to take time to read this posting. These people have basically lost a good share of their livelihood by this incident and really need help to save their stallion. Chabajo is a Hanoverian stallion that is really one of a kind! He comes from a long line of dressage and hunter/jumper warmbloods in Europe. His sire, Cheenook, line includes Caretino, Caletto II and Cor de la Bryere. Cheenooks pedigree includes many other great stallions such as Romantiker, Ramiro Z, Consul, and the AngloArabian, Ramzes. Check out each of these stallions and see what their show records consist of. The gaits that are passed on to Chabajos get are awesome! I can speak from experience because I bred my PB mare, WP Jezebel (Egyptian Bred) to him in 2005 and have a fantastic gelding, Corraggio, out of the breeding. Corraggio went to his first show last August, after not being in a show ring since his yearling year, and qualified for the Region 10 Sport Horse Regionals for both Inhand and under saddle! Chabajo is a stallion worth saving. His owners were not told of any exposures until 2009, which was 4 years after his last breeding (to my mare), and now the USDF/APHIS is saying he was supposedly exposed to the CEM back in 2001! That was 8 years AFTER his exposure, according to USDA. The officials have not been very helpful or forthcoming with specific information, nor has the reputable clinic where he was always collected. Is there someone, or other people, who can help from having to put this healthy stallion down??
