I would like to add my opinion to the many posts out there regarding the suicide of Robin Williams, well, suicide in general. While I do not care to spout religion right now (because so many religions have differing and even tragic opinions on the matter) I would like to make one point clear: Everyone reading this exercised their right to be born; it is also someone’s right to decide to end their life at the time of their choosing. It is sad. It is tragic. But in the end, it is their choice. Don’t hate them for it. Wish them well on their journey. If anything you can say “it’s what they wanted” which is not something you can say for someone who was taken in an accident or an illness. It is NOT our place to judge the deceased in a religious manner or in any other manner, for that matter, unless we ourselves have walked in their shoes and lived their life. And we haven’t. Some people have reached a point where they just want out; exit stage left. Many people, upon entering their final moments, are ready to die- and some people are obviously ready to die before their final moment comes. Let them be. Celebrate their life. Be glad to have been a part of their life or touched by their life in some way while they were here. Be glad for them and wish them well on their journey. The time is far past for pointing any fingers. Don’t speculate. Don’t judge. Don’t gossip. Best wishes on your journey, Mr Williams. I sure did appreciate the laughs.
