I would like to address concerns by the residents of Bonavista on the issue of discolored water. I have spoken with the Town Manager as well as one of the maintenance men. They have informed me that the water discoloration is due to an increase in rainfall and high winds which causes Long Pond to stir up. This happens not only in Bonavista but across the island. As for the installation of new water lines, this has been ongoing for the past year. This installation will continue until the new line is fully completed. The new water line installation has not and will not affect the water quality.
