I would like to apologize for creating any controversy with my re-posting of an article on the American Sniper. It does give food for thought, if you read the entire thing, but I did not post this as a political or personal endorsement. War movies are War movies. They can never express the hearts or souls of those who served in a combat situation. I have no regrets about volunteering for FMF (Navy by enlistment. Marine by choice), nor supporting my brothers, my country and our forgotten vets. My job as a corpsman was to pick up the pieces and try to put them back together. A Snipers job was to reduce the number of pieces I had to put back together. For that I am thankful. My fear is that to many of our politicians look at our military as boots or blue and red arrows on a map. Not considering that these are real people, husbands, fathers, and in the case of my war, teenagers. Who actually do the dirty work, with honor, allegiance and valor. We are put in harms way to protect our blessed country, but forgotten when the conflict is over. Again, sorry for the controversy over my post, but if you are a Vietnam Vet and read my comments on this post, you know where I am coming from. War is Hell. War changes people. War brings out both the worst and the best in each of us who served. Semper Fi! God bless our military our veterans, their families and the United States of America. Doc.
