I would like to ask all of my supporters from the recent elections for their continued support as I begin another campaign season. I qualified on January 5th for the Circuit Clerk race in Jones County. You may recall that I ran for Circuit Clerk in 2007, after having worked in that office for 5 years. I was unsuccessful in winning that election, but I made it my personal goal to seek the office again. After the election, I had the opportunity to transfer to the Chancery Clerks office where I have worked for 7 years. As many of you know, when Chancery Clerk Larry Ishee stepped down, it left a one year vacancy in that office. I was appointed to this position and was encouraged by many to run in the special election to fulfill the remaining year of his term. With your help, I was recently elected as Jones County Chancery Clerk during the special election. It is and has been my intentions to seek the office of Circuit Clerk for the past eight years; however, I am honored that I have been given the opportunity to serve as Jones Countys Chancery Clerk. I feel that this experience will even better qualify me to be Jones Countys next Circuit Clerk. I feel that I am also qualified for this position by the knowledge I gained while working in the Circuit Clerks office for 5 years. There, I worked closely with the Election Commissioners in all local elections. I was one of the first in the county to receive training at a state level on the new electronic voting machines. I was responsible for training others in our county on how to implement these new electronic voting machines in Jones County elections. Because of my experience in that office, I am familiar with the day to day operations of all duties that are required of the Circuit Clerk. Eight years ago, I sought the office of Jones County Circuit Clerk. I ask that you will once again place your trust in me as I seek to fulfill this goal.
