I would like to create a workshop called: “Workin’ the Worship.” It would be filled with tons of neat tips and tricks on how to network within the House of God and turn worship into a cost-effective means of getting new business. The workshop would end with the following prayer, a free gift from me and the Lord to all the attendees: Dear Lord Jesus, I come before You now not as a child of God, but as a photographer. You gave me this gift, so I feel it only right to market myself within Your holy house. I know, dear God, that You turned over tables in the New Testament for people doing this sort of thing and turning Your Father’s house into a marketplace, but Lord, that was two thousand years ago. I’m sure that if there was a New, NEW Testament, it would include a book devoted to photographers because so many use You now as a selling tool. So, Lord, I ask that You guide me as I approach everyone in this house of worship. I pray You give me the right words to say as I make my desperate pleas to each member of the congregation to let me photograph them. Amen. ” And then we would sell wooden plaques with the following reworded Psalm. These could be set on a desk or on a wall by your desk for motivation each and every day. The Lord is my selling tool I shall not apologize He leadeth me in the writing of my bio He restoreth my excuses Yea,though I walk through the valley of shadows I shall fear no underexposure For my pop up flash is with me And I have a Photoshop action for those shadows. You prepare a table filled with coaching discounts in the presence of my workshop You anoint my head with an adorable hat My cup overfloweth..with vodka. Surely, Facebook fans and workshop attendees will follow me all the days of my life (or for the next couple of years) And I will make my living with my workshops Until people get wise. Amen xoxo
