I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the racing - TopicsExpress

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the racing community (the racing family) for all of their support in helping to raise awareness of the very rare autoimmune disease I have. A special thank you to Justin and Fran Gozzi and the Gozzi Racing team who through their own initiative recently started the awareness campaign by putting the "Joey Ribbon" (as my mom calls it) on their 85 small block modified back on August 16. Now, several other drivers and their crews/families (Ed Dachenhausen, Joe McCarthy, Jerry Higbie, Anthony Perrego, Bob McGannon, Clinton Mills, Chuck McKee, Tyler McKee, Tyler Bonaface, Kenny Bonaface, Gary Quick, Bobby Knipe) in this great racing community that we all know and respect are helping to spread awareness at several race tracks near and far. These friendships and others that I have made with some very special people (Brett Hearn, Tomy Drissi, Lacy Drissi, Joann Maxwell) during this battle are friendships I will cherish forever. It is my hope that the ribbons that you are all representing on your race cars and elsewhere will help raise awareness and educate people on rare autoimmune diseases, help to encourage more research on rare autoimmune diseases, and assist in early diagnosis of and identifying treatments that will help in the recovery and rehabilitation from the serious, life altering effects these diseases can have. Some literature will be available soon to help explain the illness and what I went through in more detail
