I would like to make to it known to the community that it is regrettable that no members of the Eari wig committee could go on Destination Newry tomorrow morning. As it is too short of notice as we were only approached on Wednesday to appear. It is not feasible to appear at such late notice and particularly on the day of the festival. The committee is stretched to the maximum and working tirelessly to make it a brilliant festival for the community in its entirety. With charitable causes at the forefront of their good deeds and intentions. Unfortunately Destination Newry have taken offence to this and decided to put some negative comments regarding the understandable decline of a representative to appear. It has been widely known that the festival was taken place and if approached sooner, we gladly would have been able to accommodate the community station. If possible could someone share this status with Destination Newry as I am unable to. This matter has been taken very seriously and it is only fair the community are aware of the facts. We are the people.
