I would like to point out something this morning. I want us to look at one of the mysteries that was revealed to the Apostle Paul. When Peter was preaching on the Day of Pentecost (a Jewish festival) he was explaining to the Jewish people that they had killed their Messiah. Acts 2:23 "Him (Jesus), being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, AND BY WICKED HANDS HAVE CRUCIFIED AND SLAIN:" Peter was telling his fellow Jews that they had murdered Jesus. (special note: for proof of not being anti-Semitic, Psalms 2 prophesied of the Gentile leaders taking counsel with the Jewish rulers in the slaying of Jesus) Keep in mind that Peter tells of Jesus Christ being murdered. Now take a look at what Paul tells the Gentiles. Galatians 1:3,4 "Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, WHO GAVE HIMSELF FOR OUR SINS, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:" Notice the difference? Peter tells the Jewish people that they had murdered Jesus Christ. Paul tells the Gentiles, after receiving a revelation from the Lord Himself, that our Lord Jesus Christ gave His life, as it was not taken from Him. Keep that in memory. I have heard it taught that we killed Jesus Christ with our sins. This is simply not so. Our Lord GAVE His life for our sins. Understand that. Have you accepted His gift of grace? Have you trusted in the finished work of The Cross? There is not one of you that Jesus Christ did not die for. Not one! I love you all. Have a great day.
