I would like to propose this idea that I have wanted to do on my own now for years but never have; Which I believe if implemented now within the NMRA and 4x4 community will be easier to make happen considering the more recent years of organizing events as to avoid scheduling conflicts. Plus help in the promotion and planning of all local events to allow people to know what is going on. I want to get together with a few people in this to publish a calendar that can be available in the NW, which will be a calendar that doesnt list Holidays or phases of the moon, but lists to the best of our knowledge all the 4 wheel drive related events within our region on the dates we know about. For example, this next year Mountain Mafia already has their established dates, and Mountain Mania soon will as well as finding out for sure Moyie dates. Some other events and races are tentative as of yet, and it will be hard to get all this info together but we can at least list as many as we can on the calendar everything from mud races to rock crawls. Id like to do two versions, one is a show and shine version with each month showing a vehicle in its clean form with a volunteer model included. The other would be a Rock and Grime version which would be pure action shots for each month showing a rig doing what it does best. Each version would have the same event listing to cover as many events as we know about, and each month in small print we can ad individual web links to visit for more info on each event so that people who have these calendars can have a chance to look into the events listed and decide if they want to attend or not. Its been near 10 years since I had this idea, but before the 4x4 community wasnt as organized or on the same page as much as we are now. But now, I think its time to make this happen. Please let me know your input and if you feel this is a good idea. I feel it will promote our sport and the off roading community and also help in planning for the years events if we all have calendars on our walls we can refer to for whats up and coming, and if the public also has access to these calendars at their homes and businesses.
