I would like to say thank you. I, myself am not a mum to any child - TopicsExpress

I would like to say thank you. I, myself am not a mum to any child - premmie or not, but I am the aunt to an awesome premmie boy. My nephew was born at 25+2 (hope I said that right) he spent 115 days in hospital and had some dark days. This year we celebrate his 4th bday! My sparrow is my world. We talk everyday, play in the park, jump on the bed, watch tv and share food. I am thankful to my sister Jill and brother-in-law Paul who remained positive even on the darkest days, who are raising a beautiful cheeky awesome boy and who think its funny a 3yr old has so much control over his aunt. Im thankful to the amazing nurses in NICU, who took such great care of my family on those long days. Im thankful to the amazing soul sister Leonie, who while going through her own journey with her angel was there for my sister and who has joined our family of love (and insanity). Im thankful to both my sisters friends and my friends who love to follow the growing up of my sparrow and who celebrate the joy of the new baby on the way (my sister is currently at 26+2 days). But also Im thankful to this group who raise awareness and support, who allow other people touched by premmies to share their journeys (good and bad), who mostly offer support and advice and who celebrate these special babies. To everyone reading this thank you for sharing your journey and the milestones your miracles achieve. Thank you for allowing others to join your journey. Amanda
