I would like to share a dog story with you. My black lab SWEET, sleeps in our bedroom with our other dog JR. When Melissa comes home from work (while I am still sleeping), Sweet goes downstairs to do her business with the other dogs but comes back upstairs with Melissa. When I finally get out of bed hours later (usually because I was up most of the night like last night) Sweet walks out with me, without the need to call her. I have a hard time navigating in the morning due to the pain and as a result I traverse the stairs one step at a time. Well, Sweet walks down the left side of me and stays by my side all the way. I walk two stairs and she comes down with me to act like a safety net. She does this step by step until I am down at the landing. This was especially difficult for her to do today as our other dog Ammo, a small little runt of a dog kept stepping in front of me trying to coax Sweet to play. Sweet would have none of it. NOW THATS AN AWESOME DOG. Sweet can somehow sense the pain I am in and when it gets super nasty, I find Sweet coming over to my sofa chair to rest her head on my lap. She is my own personal comfort dog.
