, I would like to share a few found items that were not only areas to integrate into my own teaching/leadership, but insights and confirmations that others have shared with me in the process .(Thankyou to those friends whose talents inspire and blend with kindness and knowledge.) Leadership and Teachers Know yourself …continually strengthening your attributes. This can be accomplished through research, formal classes, reflection, and can include interacting with many others that may do things differently. Gather what works and don’t be afraid to try something new. Be technically proficient - As a leader, you must know your job and have a solid familiarity with what you are leading or teaching. Take responsibility for your actions and when things go wrong, they always do sooner or later — do not blame others. Analyze the situation, take corrective action, and move on to the next challenge. Make sound and timely decisions using the Roe as guidelines. There will always be someone that feels some agreed upon rule is not meant to be followed. Remember that the rules of a game are there to insure fairness to all and avoid conflict. LIKEWISE, be open to compromise when a reasonable way to do things different, is offered. Set the example - Be a good role model in battle and RP. They must not only hear what they are expected to do, but also see leaders setting the example. We must become the change we want to see - Mahatma Gandhi Know your people and look out for their well-being - Know human nature and the importance of sincerely caring. Yes it’s a game but we still are real people behind the game. Keep all that are involved or affected …in a RP, or guild changes, etc. …INFORMED: Know how to communicate .Yes this does take time but in the long run it saves even more time trying to explain later why they were not informed. Use the full capabilities of your members that want to offer talents and training. They are a gold mine of ideas and fresh insights and inspiration for others…not to mention that sharing the load makes your time for fun more available too. I am sure most of this is not something new. Just reminders. Knowing them and using them is the real challenge. We are all here for the fun. And as leaders …for the love of the game. It has been my privilege to take part in an Epic story that enthralled me from the beginning. The story brought me here. The people, both friend and nemesis, kept me here. It’s been one of the best adventures so far. Ondine sorts through her scrolls, picks up a little torn piece saved under the edge of her desk and grins as she reads,” The quality/fun of the game is proportional to the time, communication, and research the players put into it.
