I would like to share my story. I found out I was pregnant when I was 8 weeks and 5 days I was excited it was my 3rd baby I had 2 boys already and my oldest was excited to have a new baby, when I was 18 weeks they did the ultrasound where they measure the lungs, kidneys, and everything and where they check the heart and make sure its beating the way it should, my mom was there and my oldest son, we found out I was having another boy, ultrasound tech was doing her measurements then she kept going back and watching his heart, the she said she would be right back she needed to get my dr to come look at it, he ca.e in and looked at it for about 10 min watching and measuring his heart on the monitor then he told my mother and me that his heart wasnt beating like it should be, so he sent me to a high risk dr to find out 100% what was going on. My mom and I went to the high risk dr the ultrasound tech came in and took pictures and videos to show the dr, when he came in looked at everything and before he told me what was wrong he said before i tell you whats wrong i want you to understand that you have done nothing wrong this condition just happens i said i understood and then he said my baby boy would be born with a heart condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome, my mom and i both broke down into tears because we knew it was the same heart condition that took away baby on my dads side. He gave me 3 options 1 was to have him and hold him and love him for a week or less, to have him put on a transplant list (but the wait could take too long), or 3 go through the 3 step surgeries one when he is a newborn, one at about 6 months, and the last when he is 2-3 years old , after several weeks of thinking about it i chose to go wit the surgeries, i had Johnathan David at Vanderbilt on February 27,2013 he made it through the first surgery and a nision and g-ube placement, we ended up being there for 3 months we came home may 1, 2013 about 7:30 pm it was a long car ride home, everything was great the first night home, the next day everyone was coming to meet him my mom, sister, my 2 nephews, and my brother in law had been the only ones to see him because they were at the hospital when i had him and came to see us when they could, everyone came to see him and held him they all fell in love with him as soon as they saw him, i was so proud after everything he had been through that he was happy and smiling and cooing, the next day was his first dr coat for his outta the hospital check up, he had done great the night before, i packed his diaper bag and got him dressed and ready to see the dr, got him in his car seat and in the car he was fussing at first then stopped so my mom and i thought that he had went to sleep, when we got to the drs office we got him outta the car and walked in my mom noticed that he was very pale and we stopped to get him out of his seat, mom picked him up when i saw how limp he was and how pale i went and asked for a nurse and dr and for someone to call 911 i went to walk over to Johnathan and i froze and fell to the floor the dr was doing cpr on him and he wasnt coming back i was in shock and couldnt stand up the ambulance got there and started asking questions but i couldnt speak i didnt know what to do they rushed him to the childrens hospital and took him back they tried for 2 hours to get him back i was a wreck trying to let everyone know what was going on and not knowing what was going to happen to my sweet baby boy. The nurse came out and told us that they had tried everything they could do bit Johnathans little heart had stopped that after everything he had went through his heart couldnt take anymore and stopped pumping, i lost my sweet angel Johnathan on may 3, 2013....i miss him more and more everyday i wish he was still here with me and his brothers. I love you Johnathan and i miss you so much my sweet angel
