I would like to share something that I just experienced. I am putting on an event for fund raising for the Philippine Tragedy. I have asked for help. Before I share this, I want to say this; I am a Canadian and I speak English. With NO disrespect to anyone who comes to Canada, before you make a judgment on anything that is said in the English language, please make sure you understand it because the majority of Canadians when speaking to others are pretty considerate people. I can also understand if I was to go to another country and have to learn a new language, it would be very difficult, and I would also have to realize that I would need to think before I said something unpleasant in case I was wrong or misunderstood the language. So here it is: (no names mentioned) Persons response to ad: Hi Dolores I saw your add and I thought rigth away that you dont need any DJ. Here Im sending you a little taste of what I do. Please give me a call if that interested you. My response: Hi there, your reply made me laugh the way you wrote it you dont need any DJ. Actually I do because I dance and I choreography to my music. And it needs a lot of base, etc. But....I wish you could sing in Filipino language you could do a song for them. That would be nice. Persons response back: Is unreal !!!!........You also made me laugh to see how rude and stupid you are......I was trying to help ....and thats the answer I got from you. With that stinky attitud......I wish you a good luck. My response: No, no, no, please dont take it that way. I was laughing because it sounded funny. No I am not rude, I am a very nice person with a great sense of humour. I meant no harm at all and I know you are offering something very nice. I think you took the comment the wrong way. Take care. So there you have it. I personally believe that most Canadians go out of their way to help others from other countries, whether it is a smile, listening to the person and trying to understand and respecting them knowing this may be hard for them. And just like in any Country, you will have your good and bad, but the majority of people are Good.
