I would like to share what I learned one evening in meditation as I recall it: I knew the five skandhas of form, feeling, consciousness, thought, and perceptions, to reveal themselves for what they are, and I knew their total unreality. I knew then that the horrific sorrows of life dissolve into a final knowing laughter in the end, and sorrow itself is transformed into the knowing smile of the Buddha. I try to keep it in the forefront of my mind always.
