I would like to take a moment to let everyone, specially to longtime Disney employees, know that an almost 34 year Disney employee passed away this morning sunday sept. 28, 2014 at 0850. Donald jake bayne bravely fought cancer for 9 months. he started at disney in security in april 1971 and went to epcot central base prior to that parks opening in 1982. some may remember both jake and I from security communications control in the 1970s, some from epcot central base in the 1980s thru 2004 when he retired. I am proud to say he was my closest friend for well over 40 years and a co-worker for over 30. he was truly a friend, pal, buddy, coworker and sometimes co-conspirator. he is survived by his wife penny and son Jaime. for those interested, a memorial service will be held Friday oct. 3 at 11:00 at the first Baptist church of Orlando. rest in peace jake and GOD bless you.
