I would like to take this time honor and acknowledge by ancestry/ethnicity passed on to me by those who came before me. 1. 89.4% Sub-Saharan African - The genetic diversity of Sub-Saharan Africa reflects both the deep history of humans in the region and the recent migrations that have carried the diversity of western Africa to both southern and eastern Africa. 2. 4.1% Non Specific Northern European - Northern Europe is the northern part or region of the European continent. A United Nations report published in 2011 defines Northern Europe as including the following ten countries and dependent regions: Denmark (with Faroe Islands), Estonia, Finland (with Åland), Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway (Svalbard and Jan Mayen), Sweden, and the UK (with Guernsey, Isle of Man and Jersey). 3. 0.1% British Irish - When people first arrived in the regions now known as Great Britain and Ireland tens of thousands of years ago, these two regions were physically joined to one another. Today the people of the islands of Great Britain and Ireland descend from Celtic, Saxon, and Viking ancestors. 4. 4.8% Non Specific European 5. 0.4% East Asian - Eastern Asia, represented here by people from as far north as Japan and as far south as Cambodia, was inhabited by modern humans thousands of years before Europe and Australia. The extent to which Eastern Asians are descendants of those earliest peoples remains uncertain. 6. 0.1% North African - Over the last several millennia the Sahara has been a significant geographic barrier for the people of Africa. Although trade routes between the northern and southern parts of the continent have long existed, northern Africa has been strongly influenced by people of the Middle East and southern Europe. 7. 1.1 % - Unassigned
