I would like to tell you what I think is a heart warming story. - TopicsExpress

I would like to tell you what I think is a heart warming story. Many of you know that my husband goes out of his way for others... he has helped a lot of the elderly around town-- with things-- honey doo things... when they go to pay him, he wont take it... from rolling up garden hoses, removing wasp nest-- repairing sprinklers and such-- he just has a good heart. Yesterday we were driving on the freeway when an 18 wheeler began to lose his cargo... it started with cardboard coverings... the cliff began to see the straps coming off... the load was sliding and bouncing pretty bad.... he said we have to get away -- there is about to be a big wreck we pulled up beside the man and waved hand motions to what was happening... then cliff pulled in front of him put his hazards on and made his way to the shoulder of the 610 freeway. the 18 wheeler pulled behind us... and cliff jumped out..(I admit I was begging him not to). I was praying the whole time for both of them to be safe... but then cliff proceeded to help the man re-strap the entire load. As cliff was coming back to the car I was thinking about how many people saw that happening... and how great it was for cliff to not only warn the man, but go and help him. My husband and I both have very powerful personalities and we go round and round...I am the first one to point out both of our in depth faults... but I truly have never witnessed a man like my husband. He has a real heart for giving, and doing and helping. In three more days I have known this man for 34 years--- many of those years we were apart-- but the inner core of his graciousness and giving-- doesnt give me PRIDE-- it gives me a sense of feeling thankful and blessed. In the past years I have watched him give groceries, gas-- even the last bit of cash in his pocket to help someone in need. I am just still in awe thinking about him pulling over on 610 (obviously he is not from Houston--- lol) but pulling over and helping a truck driver-- I am quite positive if he wouldnt have warned the man-- the entire load would have been scattered and you would have been watching the tragedy on the news-- with most likely many fatalities. I am a better person because of Cliff Sommerville!
