I would like to thank everyone for all the kind comments about my work. I am sure I do not deserve so much praise. In the end it was all down to hard training, hard work and a love of what I did. I consider myself blessed to have been given such a skill and to be able to live a life doing what I love. Patrons commissioning this work was praise enough because through their generosity I was able to meet some extremely interesting people and do some fascinating work. I enjoyed it all, from the simplest coat of arms to the most complex of Royal Letters Patent for Her Majestys Crown Office. It was never always perfect, life as an artist is difficult at the best of times and I went through some struggles but somehow those bright colours and twinkling gold, the smell of vellum and ink glistening like sapphires on a page just enthralled me, I was doing something little changed in over a 1000 years. Imagine that, it was an incredible and huge privilege to be able to continue that tradition for as long as I was able. So do not praise my work, celebrate that fact that without you this wonderful era would never have happened and so I thank you all. The good thing is I have been able to teach my dear wife to continue one aspect of this craft and so the Jamieson name will live on in heraldry :) - Andy
