I would like to thank the residents of Highridge and Githogoro areas in Parklands and Karura respectively for joining the staff of Nairobi City County led by Environment Chief Officer Dr. Leah Oyake and the area Sub County Administrator Francis Kio (Karura) in a series of clean up exercises yesterday and today. Indeed, the weekly and monthly cleanup exercises have elicited considerable interest and support from public-spirited residents who see it as an opportunity to play their part in creating a clean, orderly and environmentally-conscious city. Parts of the county that were previously notorious for being havens of dirt and garbage are now being slowly transformed into habitable environments. It goes to show that by each one of us playing their part, we can create the city we aspire for – a city that is pleasant for all to live in. #MyWasteMyResponsibility
