I would like to wish each and everyone here on BMSD a very happy and blessed year ahead. May 2015 be a year when things in the world take a turn for the better. Hope we can all continue to make a difference in whatever capacity and sphere of life we are involved in, and to raise awareness amongst ourselves and whom we can influence. Tolerance and respect. Humanity above all. I joined the forum in Jan 2014, left after 3 months, and came back in July. Here I found people engaged in healthy debates and discussion, mostly of high caliber, and learnt a lot from the information shared. I made many new friends and hope to continue to do so. Maybe even meet you in person on my next visit back home. Secularism, I believe is the ultimate answer to most if not all of the problems we see today. This is an ideology that doesnt go against any ones personal belief, but gives solutions to the conflicts around the world, mainly the middle east and the sub-continent. Allow the state to function in an honest and competent manner, justice and tolerance, education, freedom of speech, protection of all minorities, no one persons religion or belief better than the other. My parents taught me, you cant be a good Muslim if you arent a good human being first. Sort that out first, the rituals will follow. Spirituality. Find God through Humanity. Its an algorithm that works for me. Have a great 2015.
