I would love for every single cat owner who lets their cats outside to stop and realize that you are abusing your animal. Have you not seen the results of your kindness laying lifeless on the side of the road? Havent you heard the attacks by coyotes or other cats in the middle of the night? Maybe youve never heard of FeLV but do you know that it is fatal? But, maybe the worst effect is that your outside cat is responsible for killing almost three billion animals in the United States EVERY YEAR. theoatmeal/comics/cats_actually_kill Not to mention, if you let your cat outside and it becomes pregnant or if it gets another cat pregnant you are contributing to the homeless animals currently sitting in a shelter. Most cats brought to our humane society that are not claimed are EUTHANIZED. PLEASE, stop being irresponsible in pet ownership by letting your cats roam. You are killing them, their off-spring and a significant amount of wildlife. You are subjecting them to abuse, disease and annoying your neighbors. If you want an animal you can let outside and ignore... dont buy an animal.
