I would love to share something with Haffie owners in hope you can stop this before it happens. My mare is currently awaiting surgery to remove the full mass (about the size of a silver dollar) off the back side of her eye it is a squamous cell carcinoma. This is a very aggressive form of cancer. This is now common in haffies and is being seen in the younger horses. My mare is only 12 years old and may loose her eye due to this. Please be pro active in reducing the ammount of UV rays your haffies recieve. I have purchased UV ray blockng fly masks for all my haffies amd light skinned horses.
