I would not actually mind separating the SS trust fund, and even setting back a Payback plan, from the federal budget, to the SS trust fund, though in actuality as SS is paid out over the next decades or so, the 2.5 TRILLION dollars the federal government politicians have borrowed over time, will be slowly paid back. That said, the tough part will be in how that money will be replaced in the federal budget. While Obama and slicing and dicing Republicans have gutted a lot of poverty programs to cut the debt, and yearly deficits to the lowest levels in some time, were still adding debt. Not borrowing this money, of course, will result in more debt. So, what Im saying is, will Democrats, or Republicans (Ha, right..) call for a higher tax rate on the top-tier. No way. Theyll be trying to figure out something regressive, and raise taxes on the poor, many of whom elected Republicans, and are now going to be screwed by a big old tax. Hopefully Democrats will do what they always do, stop these idiot poor red-voting rednecks from getting screwed, along with the rest of us who voted for the Democrats, who actually support keeping SS insurance as it is, and not reforming it out of existence, or sticking it into an unhealthy market, likely just before a crash, before this huge bubble implodes.
