I would still love to become a lactation specialist. But for now I am LOVING working with the elderly. Especially the ones with Alzheimers. I got to spend the day working on that floor at the nursing home yesterday. It feels so good to make them smile. Makes ya feel good when they ask you to be their granddaughter and when they ask you to work on their floor the next time you go back. Mental health has always been very interesting to me so as of right now thats the career I will pursue. Ive heard working with those people is a special calling God gives you. One of the job openings I am interviewing for is for the senior lifestyles unit at the hospital. Before my papa passed he was on that floor to get his meds regulated. I feel like I would be doin it for him. My grandma and grandpa Kean both worked at a mental health hospital their whole life. So i reckon I get it from them. I feel so good knowing I make a positive difference in someones life when they are at their worst. If it pays awful I honestly dont care. Its the residents smile and appreciation that pays! Not the money! Ive always had a huge heart for babies and the elderly. God will direct me to where I need to go. I wasnt excited knowing my clinicals had to be done at a nursing home. But God knows what he is doing. And through Gloria Houston, CNA class, and the convalescent center I feel God is showing me his will for my life! I am so blessed and excited for my future! When you are at a job you dont fit in or dont feel you are supposed to be there dont settle. Pray about it. Ask for Gods will and not your own. He will provide and show you the way. It is so so worth it!!
