I would venture to say that Cherokee Perry has been the seat to the overwhelming power and exhilaration that comes from that very first cantering experience more times than any other horse I know, as during his time working at Camp Twin Lakes and Stirrup Some Fun, I so often sat behind the saddle of a child who normally lived their lives in a wheelchair or behind a walker to hold them steady while Cherokee took them on the ride of their lives. Several of my friends and kids in our family have also been able to safely feel the joy of their first canter because of Cherokee. I always tell people he is the safest and most trustworthy horse I know. Benjamin Disraeli once said, A canter is a cure for every evil, and there certainly is no going back.
