I write this to send a STRONG warning to parents and teens who know and have considered or are going to an event in Canton Ohio called Love is Red at Faith Family Church. I have kept an eye on this conference for 2 years now and have to say you should to steer clear of the teachers and teachings that come from this event. Below are some excerpts of what I have heard from previous messages. Mesages such as this: - you can lie, cheat, and steal to get someone to church, God will forgive you later -Carl Lentz Man centered theology: YOU have the power of heaven, YOU just need to call it down Some teachers use the Message translation, which is not a literal translation at all, it is a modern paraphrase version that, for the most part, loses the context and meaning of the real Word. I Iistened to preachers saying that he will (with his children) baptize their dolls in the Holy Spirit and call the anointing down on them (the dolls). He goes on to say that he is glad his kids are so excited of these experiences in their home that they share them in public, but that he gets embarrassed when they ask him to anoint their dolls in public?.... I have almost no words for that one. I could go on and on from these sermons that throws up red flags all over. Please remember that because someone claims to be a Christian, (and even a Pastor), they read from the Bible and teaches from it, does not mean they are teachers of truth, having a correct exposition of what Gods word says. We all need to be good bereans and study to show our selves approved. I also want to add that not every word you hear (if you listen or watch) is false teachings. BUT, its the false teachings woven into the good that corrupt the truth and confuse. Also note that false teachers are described in the bible as wolves in sheeps clothing. This is saying they are winsome. They will draw you in if you dont know the Word of God well and mix truth with lies. Do I think these teachers are knowingly leading others by false teachings? I am not sure, I hope not, but that does not make their case dismissable. Please reach out through private message to me if you have questions or concerns. Pray for these men, pray for the people that do go to this conference and pray that false teachings will be discarded by their listeners. Pray for discerment in all aspects for everyone involved!
