I wrote a poem last night about depression. I am not depressed, but there have been times in the past where I have experienced brief periods of depression. I want to share my poem and invite you to comment if you would like prayers, or to pray for those you know who are struggling. Please would you click Share so that others might read my poem? Depression That vast anti everything. That refusal to act while desperately acting. The lack of insight, and yet I speak. My softness and love are removed, only the surly, ugly remains. I am convinced of my view, dangerously so. How easily I hurt those closest to me. Pathetic really. I withdraw and pause. No thoughts, just nothing. . . . Then the ice thaws, my emotion, my life force slowly returns. Shame tumbles into the space left by depression. Forgiveness and slowly, peace. I smile! I have returned to myself. Mark Brown
