I wrote this and posted it a while back but I read it once in awhile to remind myself to be still and know that he is God. There’s a little bit of God in the whippoorwill A little bit of God in its mountain trill a little bit of god in the deep woods stream Where it jumps those rocks with a moonlight gleam There’s a little bit of God in the summer night In the firefly’s dance and the last doves flight A little bit of God in the hickory smoke As we bank the fire, give it one last poke A little bit of God in the way we were raised In those cold winter nights and those warm summer days You could feel God strong in Dads callused hands In moms warm heart in the things she canned Those days are gone and the loss runs deep There’s a Wal-Mart now by the Lenard’s creek Sometimes now God seems far away A little hard to find in the day to day He doesn’t live well in the chrome and glass In big shiny cars or short mowed grass If you miss his voice blowing though the trees You can hear it strong if you’re on your knees It’s true the world is a different place But Gods still there if you seek his face
