I wrote this in my journal, Nov.7, 2005 The American Nightmare You dont think youre being played, spun like a top until youre so dizzy that you cant make out whats in front of you? Your dreams have all turned into nightmares. You wonder about those fairy tales from your childhood, where they came from and what purpose did they serve? Everybody talks about belief systems you should have that will make this all better, or at least bearable, while they all race to their nearest or newest vices. The American Dream was always about profit and having all or more comforts than your neighbor. It was more about gain in individuality than it ever was about saving your brother. Dont let the black ink fool you. It was just another marketing device, a vague image of a family and a home. It was a carrot, to accelerate the masses to provide strength to the profit engines. The richer your country, the safer, the richer, the cleaner, the richer, the most democratic, the richer the happier. In this God, so powerful, there lies the excuse for those who believe, to leave the important and thoughtful stuff to that unknown entity, to rely on something other than themselves to pave the way to a brighter, more efficient and caring world. In this God, Allah or Buddha, the timid follow only the abbreviated rules to get by, and the wicked have learned to exploit them. There is no real success throughout the ages for a God ruled earth. There is just no way to persuade everyone on the planet at once, to follow the same rules. Unless, of course, hed like to make an appearance and set us all straight, once and for all. I dont think thats going to happen. The world will just keep cursing itself until its ultimate peril. I have no faith in mankind to change the world or correct the wicked, as they have no faith in themselves to do so. As for the few who have the bravado to speak up or act, we will eventually be silenced or weakened by the real forces in charge. Unless, of course...
