IAF Official’s Car With Def Min Sticker Stolen, Security Agencies in a Tizzy A private car of an air force official, bearing sticker of Defence Ministry, has been stolen from south Delhi’s Moti Bagh area, sending security agencies in a tizzy which are on a heightened vigil following inputs of a possible terror strike in the city. “The car, stolen last night, belonged to Wing Commander Jabardeep Singh. It had a sticker of the Defence Ministry and also some important documents including the official’s identity card. The car, however, did not had any ‘confidential’ documents,” said a police official. Following intelligence inputs of a possible terror strike in the city, security agencies are on heightened vigil and a car with Defence Ministry sticker, identity card of the officer and some important documents being stolen in such a scenario has sent the agencies in a tizzy as an Ambassador car with a fake Home Ministry sticker was used by terrorists during the 2001 Parliament attack. Sustained efforts to track the car till late evening could not fructify but its details have been shared with all security agencies, the official said. Security was beefed up across the national capital with Delhi Police’s SWAT and HIT teams being deployed at important installations like airports, railway stations, bus terminals, Metro stations and malls.
