IAM THE BEST GOVERNOR - SULE LAMIDO Jigawa State governor Sule Lamido has described himself as the best governor in Nigeria in terms of delivering campaign promises. Lamido made the declaration while speaking during a Ramadan breakfast with party leaders at Dutse Government House. He remarked that during his inaugural speech seven years ago, he presented a book which contained his vision, mission and hope for Jigawa State and its populace. “Today, I am proud to say that I have accomplished, I have delivered all the promises I made during the campaign with extra in terms of developing Jigawa State and bringing the dividends of democracy to my people. “We provide the best roads, best airport, best working environment for civil servants, best health care services, best education system, best judicial system, solid foundation for economic and infrastructural development, and, above all, we promote discipline, due process, rule of law patriotism and respect to human dignity among ourselves and our young generation,” he said. He declared that he had added value to every thing and every ones in Jigawa including his opponent. “I challenge everybody to judge my statement with the book I presented during my inaugural speech in 2007,” Lamido said However, speaking about his successor during the breaking of fasting Lamido said the next state’s governor would be chosen based on merit. “In the next few months, all of us would be gathered to selects our next governor based on his political and leadership qualities to lead the state forward and continue from where we stop,” he said. He said he has no any intention to impose his boy or somebody who would remain answerable to him while he is not competent to lead the state. “I’m not any one boy, I will not put my boy, the governor’s position is a challenging that needs all sense of commitment, hard working and endurance it has to be given to who deserved to hold it” Lamido emphasize.
