"Countdown--- We are now only 7 days away from the High-level Dialogue on International Migration and Development at the UN General Assembly in New York 3-4 October – taking place for only the second time ever. The HLD 2013 will bring together heads of state, ministers, vice-ministers and senior officials in a series of plenary sessions and four round tables. The theme of this two-day meeting is: “Identifying concrete measures to strengthen coherence and cooperation at all levels, with a view to enhancing the benefits of international migration for migrants and countries alike and its important links to development, while reducing its negative implications“. Civil society is participating in the HLD directly, with great expectations - expectations that are ambitious, but practical; expectations of itself as well as of governments, as full and ready partners in change.
