Your strength should be such which are the vital characteristics to work in Banking Sector and weakness should not be a drawback but a minor point which you are trying to overcome through some corrective measures or point a positive point with some diplomatic pinch in it. So to start with strength, think what are the points which you want to see in a banker. 1) Honesty/ Integrity : Since a banker will deal with a lot of money, honesty is certainly going to be the best policy. Rather than saying honesty in interview use the word integrity and also keep an illustration ready from your personal life which shows that you were an honest person. Sometimes they do ask to describe such incident. 2) Good Communication Skills/ Clarity of thoughts: Being the entry level employee of the organisation, you will have to do a lot of interaction with the customers ranging from a corporate to a normal man, from an elderly person to a toddler. So being polite and clear will surely add a lot of value during your public dealing. 3) High level of motivation/ Self Motivation: Working in bank will give you lot of challenges, extended working hour etc. So being self motivated will help you to drain out the negativity and frustrations. Working fresh will be a big boon for you and even for the organisation. 4) Dedication: A minor mistake in point or numbers will be a big problem. Being dedicated through out the day towards your service with an alert mind will gel well with the panel. Show that you are willing to go an extra mile for customer satisfaction and achieve excellence in providing service. An illustration explaining your strength should be ready from your personal life for every point. Now coming towards weakness. You can say that 1) Workaholic : You have an urgency to finish off the work at hand, you keep on thinking about it until you are done with it. So it hampers your personal life. Believe me they want you to be workaholic and work for the betterment of bank, they dont have much interest in your personal life. Never say that you are short tempered or you have lack of concentration as in case of bank where you will be involved in public dealing you need to be digest the temper of customers with a smile and concentrate for long hours, when you are dealing with money. Be confident in what ever you are saying and prepare your answers in advance with illustration such that you dont have to think about anything inside interview hall when you are under a lot of stress.
