ICE Of South Florida Presents: “Advancing Your Knowledge in Medical Settings” This workshop will provide the basic concepts of medical terminology including common root derivations and prefixes and suffixes used in medical speak to help understand the general vocabulary without having to learn every medical term. Supplemental tables will be presented for future reference. General anatomy will be reviewed to illustrate the areas of the body involved. Mock doctor-patient interviews and examinations in various potential real-life scenarios commonly seen in an office or hospital setting will be practiced. And the complexities of communicating medical/legal issues including forms such as “informed consent”, “advanced directives”, and issues regarding federal HIPAA guidelines will be discussed. Dr. Grunspan will provide an explanation in English then we will practice Sight Translations.
