ICM 30th Tri-annual Congress Prague 2014 Midwives improving Womens Health Globally I have just recently returned from Prague. Five very intensive days finding out what is happening in the World of Midwifery care from all around the Globe. A new research findings where presented by exceptional Midwives who are so passionated to improve Maternity Care Globally. Difficult task, especially seeing crises happening in the Third World Countries! Nevertheless, if you would see us together, that a seen. We are many and powerful and together we can make the difference. It was a great opportunity to meet many wonderful Midwives who are like Mummebaby look at ways to make the journey of pregnancy the best for everyone ... I tried and tasted so many products that I havent seen in UK!!! During the sessions and work shops we shared our experience around; Fertility: IVF treatment and on going support for those families. Pregnancy : Nutrition, Weight control, Exercise, Mental Health, Communication with your Unborn Baby and importance of the Birthing Partner. Birth: Familys experiences of the birth in the hospital settings, birthing centres and home. Independent MW, Doulas or Birthing Partner. Lotus Birth. Does Artificial Rupture of Membranes make a difference to the outcome? What are the best Position during the Second Stage of Labour? And of course Infant Feeding!!!! Nose to Nipple? How long we are going to send this message across that make things worse? Leave the dyad to find what is more natural to them. It was absolutely amazing experience! I couldnt miss catching up with my wonderful colleagues from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Africa, Israel, India etc. I cant describe everything here as you can imagine. But the bottom line is Hand Off of the Woman and Baby! Listen to them, because it is about them and not us. We are there to support them and guide them safely in their choices!
