#ICSI--- The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), New Delhi has on its roll today nearly 36,000 members and 4, 00,000 students. It has four Regional Councils, 69 Chapters in the Country and one overseas chapter in Dubai. Bhubaneswar Chapter was established in September, 1981.It has completed 33 years of its existence. It has now 4000+ students in the State with more than 200 qualified members serving in different organizations and also more than 60 members in practice in the State. Bhubaneswar Chapter, though small in terms of number students, has been winning for three years in a row the best award in national talent competition. More Boys and Girls of Odisha should opt for Company Secretaryship as a profession in view of the growing demand of such professionals in the country. Yesterdays Annual Conference of the Bhubaneswar chapter was a pleasant experience for me. Young students exhibited their positive vibes in abundance. Dr Bijay Kumar Sahoo, the widely known pioneer in promoting innovative and quality education in the state, called upon the young professionals to derive the best outcome from their professional knowledge by harmonizing it with high moral values. There was liberal recourse to humour as well. A display board read First in compliance and last in governance as the role of a Company Secretary. My words of advice included a sermon on the need to salute the rising sun every morning. The students should not be eager to bend natures law but learn to be in harmony with it, I said. Have pleasure in and ability for, creating wealth , I said.
